How to Apply to our School
Our school is a community school, and it determines the admission arrangements in agreement with Leicestershire Local Authority. They publish their entry regulations every year which can read on the admissions page of Leicestershire County Council's website. This website also informs parents and carers how to apply for a place at the school of their choice. Parents and carers have a right to express their preference, but this does not, in itself, guarantee a place at that particular school.
Applications should be made on on-line using the admissions page of Leicestershire County Council's website by the date stipulated on the website (this is usually the middle of January). If you prefer not to apply on-line a form can also be printed off from their website. The Local Authority will notify parents and carers of the decision as soon as all the applications have been considered and we will then as a school make contact very shortly afterwards to arrange their induction into our school
In this area, children enter school at the start of the academic year in which they become five. There is one admission date per year, late August/early in September (i.e. when the autumn term begins).
Mid Year Transfer
Applications for mid year transfers to our school should also be made using the admissions page of Leicestershire County Council's website.. Please read carefully the advice given on this page as it offers helpful suggestions to consider before a change of school may be necessary.
The Governing Body of Newtown Linford Primary School applies the regulations on admissions fairly and equally to all those who wish to attend this school. The Leicestershire LA Policy applies to all admissions to our school.
